Dre M. Cacioppo
Paediatric Neuro-Rehabilitation Doctor
I trained as a specialist in rehabilitation medicine in France. During my career, I have had the opportunity to work in a number of hospitals (including Brest and Rennes) which treat children who are living with handicaps, and to work alongside many different medical professionals there. I have acquired skills notably in the neuro-orthopaedic care of children (gait, upper limbs, etc.). In addition to my medical training and clinical activity, I have conducted many research projects into children’s handicaps, and my PHD thesis in biomechanics focused on the analysis of upper limb movement.
In early 2023, I joined the HUG’s paediatric neurology team in connection with their project to set up a specialised paediatric neuro-rehabilitation unit and, in partnership with Centre qap and Fondation Clair Bois, expand care for disabled children in the city and canton of Geneva. Under this umbrella, at Centre qap, I provide multidisciplinary paediatric rehabilitation consultations (with the children’s therapists), coordinate and supervise care and therapy, and also participate in Centre qap’s projects.
