Isaline Gentil

Speech and Language Therapist

I recently graduated from the University of Geneva in Speech and Language Therapy, having carried out my final year internships for my Master’s at the Atelier de la Fondation Ensemble, working with adolescents with intellectual impairments, and at Centre qap, where I work today.

During my studies, I had the opportunity of working with a young man with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This gave me a grounding in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and allowed me to structure a personalised approach and refine my speech and language therapy practice.

This practical experience, together with my personal background, sparked a particular interest in language and communication development in children and adolescents living with disabilities (e.g. neuro-developmental problems, genetic illnesses, acquired handicaps).

I am qualified in PECS®[AT1]  – level 1, modelling in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), and in French sign language (LSF, level 1; currently studying for level 2).

I consider that it is essential to work as part of a network and together with the families, and I make sure to build my therapy treatment around enjoyment and motivation while also respecting each child’s unique characteristics.
